This week’s festival announcements closed out the month of January on a high note. 2022 is shaping up to be the festival season to end all festival seasons. Brand new festivals continue to pop up, and existing ones are making exciting additions. Read on to find out more.
Defected Malta Festival Announcement
After all the hype around the Defected Croatia’s phase 2 lineup last week, the legendary label took us all by surprise with their latest announcement. Defected sub-label Glitterbox leads the charge for the label’s first event in Malta. So bask in the Mediterranean Sea’s glory this fall with 4,000 house heads in five clubs from Oct. 7 - 9. This one caught everyone off guard, and we can’t wait for the lineup!

Secret Project Portugal Dates & Lineup Announcement
Insomniac Events is back with yet another intriguing festival announcement. This summer, the relentless event brand presents Secret Project Portugal at Praia De Rocha Portimão with a jaw-dropping lineup of some of the hottest names in the industry. From June 17-19, the tropical festival spans three stages from dusk till dawn. House and techno mainstays Amelie Lens, Artbat, Boris Brejcha, Charlotte De Witte, Cirez D, Hot Since 82, Ida Engberg, Jamie Jones, Tale of Us, and more are going to kick off the start of summer at this massive beach fiesta. Oh, and did we mention a special Dubfire b3b Nicole Moudaber b3b Paco Osuna set?

Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival Lineup By Day Announcement
In a little over a month, Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival ticket holders will finally be able to partake in the popular South Florida-based festival’s eclectic lineup. The day-by-day lineup was finally revealed, so start making plans and complaining about set conflicts. To celebrate its fifth anniversary, the festival has planned a genre-spanning lineup. Thursday begins with a special evening as No Name honors the late Charles The First, REZZ, Two Feet, Tsuruda, and more. Then headliners Tame Impala, Megan The Stallion, Griz, and Porter Robinson will take on the rest of the weekend alongside a wide array of phenomenal talent.

HARD Summer Music Festival Dates & 3-Day Announcement
America’s favorite festival kingpin Pasquale Rotella just unveiled the dates for this year’s HARD Summer Music Festival. As usual, the festival will be taking place at the NOS Center in San Bernardino, but this year’s announcement came with quite a surprise. For the first time, HARD Summer will take over Southern Cali for not two but three consecutive days from July 29-31.

The Governor’s Ball Music Festival Dates & Lineup Announcement
There’s something special about New York City summers, and this year, festival lovers will get to welcome in the warmer months during the city’s most beloved and diverse festival, The Governor’s Ball. After a successful run at Citi Field stadium during last year’s event, the 3-day live music festivities return to the massive venue in Queens for another phenomenal production from June 10-12. Featuring a striking roster of talent varying across a broad spectrum of genres, names like Kid Cudi, Migos, Jack Harlow, Louis The Child, Halsey, Flume, J.Cole, Glass Animals, Kaytranada, and more will light up the already glistening city all weekend long.

Parklife Festival Full Lineup Announcement
Manchester’s highly-praised Parklife Festival returns this summer, with the festival scheduled to take place from June 11-12. The full lineup dropped just two days ago, and all Saturday and weekend GA tickets have already sold out! Considering the lineup, this isn’t a surprise. Performing across multiple stages are Loyle Carner, Jamie xx, Camelphat, Bicep, Tyler, the Creator, Gorgon City, Sub Focus, Annie Mac, Eric Prydz, Four Tet, and Carl Cox, among many others. In addition, the festival has announced a series of new stage partnerships with Defected, underground giants Fuse, XXL, Eat Your Own Ears, and Repercussion, with more to be announced in the months to come.

Drumcode Festival Malta Dates & Lineup Announcement
Adam Beyer’s Drumcode Festival returns for its sophomore edition later this fall in Malta. After an unfortunate event cancellation last year, Drumcode imprint followers and previous festival ticket holders are ecstatic about this year’s forthcoming production. From Sept. 15-19, the four-day event will take over multiple custom-built stages and several stunning locations throughout the island.
Drumcode Festival Malta will feature over 50 of the biggest names in techno, a signature Drumcode production and sound design, heritage site takeovers, boat and pool parties, late-night afterparties, and more. Time to make up for what we lost last year alongside label boss Adam Beyer, Chris Liebing, Joseph Capriati, Layton Giordani, Maceo Plex, Rebūke, Richie Hawtin, Will Clarke, and many more.
