Josh Gabriel Suffers Heart Attack and Announces Hiatus
Josh Gabriel, half of the electronic music duo Gabriel & Dresden, took to Instagram on July 7 to share that he will be taking a hiatus from touring for the foreseeable future due to a heart attack he suffered in June.
“I was in the hospital for two days but am now home and doing okay. Now it’s time for me to heal and reduce stress for the best chance of making a full recovery,” the artist wrote in a statement he publicly shared on the pair’s official Instagram account.
Gabriel’s statement continues earnestly, divulging details of a strenuous workload and immense feelings of stress he had undergone in the past year. “...I have been struggling with feelings of burnout, exhaustion and overall being pushed to my limit. I now have an understanding of what was really going on,” the artist candidly wrote.
“The hardest part is the reality that I must step back from touring until I have recovered. I’m going to miss playing for you and seeing everyone’s smiling faces on the dancefloor. Now it’s time for me to focus on my physical and mental health.”
Dave Dresden will continue to carry the DJ torch for the duo’s remaining tour dates, said the artist.
