Circus Records Announces New Sub Label 'Circus Electric'
Flux Pavilion and Doctor P's esteemed bass label Circus Records has announced an expansion in the form of a new label. Since 2009, Circus Records’ releases have been notoriously grounded in bass and dubstep. The new sublabel, Circus Electric, will span electronic dance music, focusing on experimental future bass and eclectic vocal-driven records.
“When we started Circus Records, it was inspired by our love for fun, melodic, dance-floor dubstep & bass music. Over the last few years we've experimented with the music we release on the label," reads the statement the label shared on Twitter announcing the Circus Electric label. "We’ve embraced another world and widened the sphere of what we’re known for. It now feels like the right time to build a place we can call home for the more eclectic side of Circus."
The new label kicks off with the release of a brand new compilation featuring rising artists So Sus, Blooom, and Everen Maxwell.
Future bass and wave talent So Sus shared his excitement for the imprint’s new expansion.
“I’m really stoked to see Circus make a home for the ‘spicy’ and forward thinking stuff. I’m quite honored to be on the ground floor of something like this and to have an opportunity to be a part of defining this new label,” they said.
The Juno-nominated talent’s collaborative new track on the compilation features production from bass artist Sejo and veers in a “wildly experimental” direction for the artist. So Sus says they’re especially glad to be premiering on Circus Electric’s upcoming eclectic record.
The Compilation, Doctor P & Flux Pavilion Present Electric One, will also include music by label bosses Flux Pavilion, Doctor P, and electronic acts ReauBeau, Fluencee, ORKID, among others. Stream Circus Electric’s debut release everywhere on August 4.
