This Week In Techno: Adam Beyer, Layton Giordani & La Tour
Sam Paganini - Rave (Adam Beyer & Layton Giordani Remix)
When an already iconic track gets a remix, it’s crucial to listen with an open yet skeptical mind. Sam Paganini’s “Rave” is one of the most well known tracks in the world of modern big room techno. It is unassailable as an absolute weapon. However, the hands of Adam Beyer and Layton Giordani are trustworthy, and their remix delivers. Although much of the build up structure is the same, and the pre-drop breakdown remains, the two artists have given “Rave” a super-sized twist of hardcore energy. Expect to hear this remix at techno festivals all over the world this summer.
Layton Giordani Live at Space Miami - 03/24/22
The aforementioned Layton Giordani has quickly made a name for himself as a rising star in the techno world. The Brooklyn-based DJ has shown his immense value locally for years now, and has recently been touring all over the country and internationally. His recent set at Space Miami is a masterclass in high powered techno.
La Tour - Blue (1992)
Raw, hypnotic, and energetic. The sounds of the 90s permeate this track and yet it still maintains aspects of what we consider to be modern techno. Take a listen, close your eyes and picture yourself in a warehouse somewhere in the fields of the United Kingdom.
