This Week In Hard Dance: Miss K8, Barber, Re-Con & Klubfiller
Miss K8 - Inspire
The time has come — the queen of hardcore is back in full force. Miss K8 kept us on our toes for the past couple of years with a slew of incredible singles and collaborations with fellow hardcore heavyweights, but her sophomore record is officially out now. Titled Eclipse, Miss K8 brings us 16 fearless cuts crafted with a passion. Clearly, K8 was inspired by powerful women in music and her devoted fans. “Inspire,” the album’s opening track, samples an exhilarating speech by Lady Gaga, complemented by K8’s distinctive signature hardcore kicks and breathtaking melodies. Listen to this album from start to finish. I promise you’ll come out the other side feeling like a god.
Dominator 2022 - Carousel Of Calamity | Warm-up Mix by Barber
While I’m utterly heartbroken that I’m missing this year’s edition of Dominator, the world’s biggest hardcore festival, I can rest easy knowing they’ve delivered a warm-up mix to the fans at home. If you’ve never heard of it, Dominator is an absolute utopia for hardcore fanatics like myself. I’ll never forget my solo trek to the festival in 2019. In the mix, uptempo maniac Barber puts it all on the table in this potent 40-minute mix. It’s no surprise he’s the man behind Barbaric Records and its merciless hardcore catalog — prepare to enter the extreme once you press play.
Hard Dance Throwback: Re-Con, Klubfiller - Freak (2015)
Let’s throw it back to one of my first favorite UK hardcore tracks, Re-Con and Klubfiller’s “Freak,” was made for those of us who stand out from the crowd and choose to live boldly. When I first heard that nasty UK hardcore kick burst through my speakers, I knew I was in love with this music. Full of carefree energy and blistering, distorted melodies, “Freak” never fails to make me feel like a kid again. I apologize in advance to whoever is standing next to me at a show when someone drops this club weapon — you’ll definitely get roughed up from all my bouncing.
