This Week in Hard Dance: Dj Mad Dog, Scantraxx & Lady Faith
DJ Mad Dog - The Beat
Turn back time with a modern edge on the latest release from DJ Mad Dog, one of my all-time favorite artists. In the past couple of years, Mad Dog has transformed his timeless sound into an entirely new product: modular synths and his penchant for powerful downtempo beats play a significant role in his era-defying sound. On his latest, “The Beat” serves up merciless distortion and acid-tinged synths atop his signature earth-shattering kicks — a true demonstration of Mad Dog’s boundless creativity in the studio and his dedication to reviving classic styles from a fresh perspective.

Hardstyle Memories - Chapter 17 | Hardstyle Classics Mix
Classic hardstyle fanatics, get ready to take a trip down memory lane. Leading hardstyle label Scantraxx put together an insanely nostalgic and high-energy mix showcasing the past 20 years of the label’s history, and I seriously can’t get enough. While I love all the modern styles of hard dance, I could never fall out of love with classic hardstyle kicks and dramatic melodies made for throwing your hands up in the air and dancing like there’s no one watching. If you’re new to the genre, get familiar with the roots of hardstyle through this expertly-curated and high-spirited mix.

Hard Dance Throwback: Lady Faith - Queen Bitch of the Universe (2013)
Talk about a title! Today’s hardstyle freaks will never forget when Lady Faith stepped onto the scene and showed her teeth from the beginning of her catalog. When I think of a classic Lady Faith tune, “Queen Bitch of the Universe” is the first to pop into my mind. Taking power into her own hands, Lady Faith drops beefy, deafening kicks and chilling melodies that sound straight out of a horror film. To this day, I don’t think anyone else in hard dance can command a crowd as well as Lady Faith has — and it shows.
