This Week in Hard Dance: Sickmode, Mish, AniMe & Nasenbluten
Sickmode, Mish - RAVE LOVE
I’m already head over heels for the latest from Sickmode and Mish, and you should be too. Out now on Aggressive Records, the dynamic duo joins forces yet again for the ultimate blend of harder styles on “RAVE LOVE.” It’s the kind of track with the power to disrupt the hard dance scene, boldly going where no other artist has gone before. Modulated kicks, euphoric melodies, and lush vocals are the pillars of this indelible dance floor smash — I’m counting down the moments until I can experience this one in a crowd.
Absolute Hardcore Mix #26 - Mixed by AniMe
It feels like it’s been forever since I’ve come across a mix from AniMe, one of my all-time favorite hardcore DJs. But she’s back with another edition of her Absolute Hardcore mix series with a fresh batch of tunes from her catalog and beyond, and I couldn’t be more thrilled. AniMe keeps the energy at 11 throughout this one-hour ride, casually dropping unreleased edits of the latest and greatest in hardcore with extreme precision and flair. I can never get enough of her!
Hard Dance Throwback: Nasenbluten - No More Fucking Soul (1995)
This might be my most belligerent throwback yet. Thanks to my friend El Hornet recommending I check out some lawless Australian gabber from the ’90s, I’ve come to fall in love with the ridiculous horror of Australian trio Nasenbluten. They took their name from the German word for nosebleed at a time when hardcore was also called “nosebleed techno.” They also coined their own term for their undeniably absurd and fun brand of dance music, “cheapcore.” Even though the group broke up in 2001, you can still revisit their bizarre catalog on most streaming services. I recommend you dig into the third track off their 1995 record 100% No Soul Guaranteed and embrace the mayhem: “No More Fucking Soul” is bound to be your next rage jam.
