We Asked 9 Artists What They Are Thankful For in 2021
'Tis the season to give thanks and express gratitude towards those who make a positive impact on your life. After the battles our world has faced this past year, it's easy to get caught up in the moment. With Thanksgiving this week, we should take the time to reflect and show appreciation for what's in our lives.
As music lovers, I'm sure we can all be thankful for the place we call home, the dance music community. So we thought it'd be nice to ask the people who dedicate their lives to making the music that unites us all.
"I'm thankful to the dance music community for embracing my artistry & allowing me to continue to write and perform songs for them safely once again."
"I'm thankful for the people close to me that love me and support my art and journey through music."
"I am forever thankful for music, thanks for always clearing my head, healing my heart and lifting my spirits. I'm thankful for my team who has aided me on my journey, I'm thankful for the "Drops," the "classics," and my role models. I'm thankful for all of those who said no to me forcing me to do better, I'm thankful for the "next record." I'm thankful for the memories, the moments and the journey, because sometimes it takes a long time to sound like yourself."
"This year I'm thankful for my position as an independent artist and entrepreneur. It is a great feeling to be in control of my career and have agility in controlling my partnerships and release schedule. I'm also thankful for my family and my team who believe in my vision and help make it a reality. Since nothing happens overnight, I'm also thankful for all the experiences, being able to learn something new every day and staying motivated to constantly push myself toward set goals."
"I'm thankful for my fans for sticking with me and their massive support. Being able to be back touring and showing my music with those who support me means the world."
"I'm thankful for family, friends, my team - and the ability to help showcase some of my favorite music with 40oz Cult."
"I am thankful for my brother (Dack Janiels) being in the same industry as I am and that I get to make music, play shows, and work beside him on our brand, 40oz Cult. COVID lockdown was extremely difficult for all of us so knowing that I had family I could lean on for support and understanding during that time was truly special."
"I'm thankful for the opportunity to share my love and passion for music with other like minded people. Work isn't work when you love what you do everyday."
"This is a great opportunity for me to say that I am thankful to have made a living from fulfilling my passion for the past 20 years or so. I have traveled the world, played at the most prestigious venues and festivals, and met so many amazing and inspiring people throughout my journey. I am also thankful to have been part of a movement that grew even bigger than I ever could have imagined. That's what music is all about for me: gathering people together and forgetting about our problems. Lastly, I am thankful to be surrounded by loving friends and family and that everyone is staying healthy!"
