Ultra Music Festival has finally reached an agreement with their neighbors in downtown Miami. The announcement eases years of tension between the festival and the Downtown Neighbors Alliance - a community organization that represents the residents that call the area surrounding the festival site home.

For the first time in its history, Ultra will voluntarily participate in a community standards program. Meant to highlight issues that the Downtown Neighborhood Alliance has long butted heads with the festival on. Construction schedules, park closures, noise monitoring, and traffic impact are all on the list of things that they plan to address.

This agreement is the first time that the two embattled groups have stood on common ground. Both parties came to the table with an interest in keeping the legendary festival alive. And did so with the gracious residents in mind. With an estimated 165,000 attendees, it’s of the utmost importance that the dance music community positively represent the culture. The symbiotic relationship between guest and host ensures the future of the festival.

Ultra spokesperson Ray Martinez said, “ [W]e look forward to continuing to partner with area residents with the common goal of advancing a shared vision of sustainable coexistence, which will allow us to continue showcasing Miami and its local culture as the dance music capital of the world.”

James Torres, President of the Miami Downtown Neighbors Alliance agrees, “[W]e are pleased to have reached an agreement that addresses many of the issues that have impacted Downtown Miami residents during previous Ultra events. We believe that this agreement will allow Ultra and its neighbors to coexist and will highlight Downtown Miami as “One Community for All”, and a great place to live, work and play.”

The next edition of Ultra Music Festival is scheduled to take place from March 25 - 27, 2022 at Bayfront Park. For more information, please visit https://ultramusicfestival.com/
