ASOT1000 Weekender Cancelled and Rescheduled for 2022
Armin van Buuren's A State Of Trance brand is a cultural institution. His legendary radio show and events have played host to unparalleled moments in trance music history. ASOT planned to celebrate the milestone of 1000 shows this September in Jaarbeurs, Utrecht. Van Burren announced via social media that the long-awaited event will postpone due to new government-mandated COVID restrictions. ASOT1000 will now take place February 18-19, 2022.
"I'm sad to tell you that the ASOT1000 celebration weekend in September won't take place," he said in a video posted to Twitter from the ASOT official account. "And I'm really sad about this because I was so looking forward to seeing you all."
The event was also a celebration of twenty years as a premier trance brand. Hotly anticipated by the worldwide Trance Family, this cancelation is yet another devastating blow. ASOT1000 joins a laundry list of European festivals canceled in the wake of extended COVID-related safety measures delaying a long-awaited return to the dancefloor. February's ASOT1000 theme, ‘Turn the World Into a Dancefloor’ will be an even more poignant reminder of how incredible it is to come together and dance as one.
The festival website stated that all tickets purchased for the original date will be honored. Those who booked hotel stays through the official ASOT ticket shop will automatically move to new reservation dates. Those who can longer attend can request a refund. Details on refunds will follow on August 16th. Refunds will not be swift. Those requesting one will only see the money four weeks after the original dates of the event (September 3-4, 2021).
